Ten Ways to Grow your Podcast Audience

Ten ways to grow your audience

Here are  10 of the  most noted strategies for growing a podcast's audience:

10. Be consistent – timing of release, duration of podcast, niche – publish quality content.

9. Submit it to iTunes and optimize your feed with your important podcast information in the RSS fields and iTunes fields.

8. Submit your podcast to other directories – e.g. BlackBerry, Stitcher, Tunein Radio, DoubleTwist.

7. Put a link on other social media profiles – Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn.

6. Post YouTube videos showing recordings of your podcast and include show notes – tag everything.

5. Consider a highly targeted ad – Facebook ad, Google adwords, sponsored tweets – know who your audience is first so you can tailor the ad for them.

4. Host giveaways.

3. Network cross-promotion – accept requests for being interviewed on other people’s podcasts and blogs – reach out to other podcasters in your niche and expand the network.

2. Interview people – make your guest look and sound their best so they’ll want to share it – provide interviewee with tools to share with their followers – interview or promote the influencers in your niche and get them to promote the content – key element is getting THEM to promote it – leverage their large social following (get them to post).

1. Engage your audience – reply to every comment (website, YouTube, twitter, G+, email, etc) and do it as quickly as possible – engage in the conversation while it’s still relevant – also check out their content and comment.
